Happy Birthday Katelyn

Monday, March 26th was Katelyn's first birthday. We decided to drive over to rexburg to spend the weekend with my family. We had lots of fun. Katelyn loved chasing the dogs around the house. We had a small party for Katelyn including presents, cake, family and lots and lots of pictures.

sidewalk drawings

It was really nice weather today. Katelyn and I decided to break out the sidewalk chalk, go outside and color on our patio. Katelyn is quite the little artist.

Wonderful Wednesday

The weather has been amazing here in Boise for the past couple of days. On Wednesday, after Andy got home from school, we decided to go for another bike ride along the greenbelt. We decide to ride in the same direction we did last time but just on the other side of the river. It was very beautiful. Boise States campus in on that side of the river. It is a very beautiful campus! We decided to stop at an outlook, basically a fenced deck out over the river. Katelyn had fun finding sticks and other various things to stick through the fence and watch float through the water.

I love that we are having warmer, nicer weather so that we can get outside and be more active. I hope it continues to get better and better.

Birthday Wreath

In honor of Katelyn's birthday in a week, I have decided to make a birthday wreath. It will come out and go up on our front door for a week before a family member's birthday. I am really excited that it is finished. It took 1 14in wreath form, 148 balloons, 150 greening pins and 2 happy birthday cards. It was really fun to make and is fun to have on the door. Here are some pictures of it, tell me what you think.

Update: If you would like a birthday wreath for yourself but don't want to go to the trouble of making it, I am selling them in my Etsy shop. A link is provided in the top bar of our blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Power 90

As many of you may know that I am trying to get back into shape after having Katelyn. It has been almost a year since Katelyn has been born and I have only successfully taken off about 10 lbs by myself. So I decided to try a fitness plan and decided on Power 90 by beach body. It is the precursor to the very popular P90X. I am committing to exercising for 45 minutes a day, 6 days a week. I finished my second day today. I am sharing all of this with you so that all of you can keep me accountable and motivate me to keep going and finish. Here are my before pictures.

Hopefully by June 13th (day 90) I will be more confident and be able to fit into my favorite pair of jeans (size 4). I would recommend this program to anyone. I really have enjoyed it. Its also great that it is under an hour each day so I can get my workout and shower in before Katelyn wakes up at 9.

New hair

A couple weeks ago I decided that I wanted a change. Today I finally did it. I chopped off my hair!!
Here is my before picture:
And here is the after!
I love it so much and I think it will be a lot more fun and manageable than when it was long!

Sunday Stroll

On Sunday after church we decided to take my new bike out on a stroll. We rode along the greenbelt which is about a half a mile away from our house. It follows the Boise river for about 10 miles. We didn't ride along the whole thing but about half of it. It was so beautiful. The path is just meant for walkers, joggers and bikes. It was fun to get out and have fun, even Katelyn enjoyed it. We rode along the path a good while and then came along a new park that we haven't discovered yet and decided to stop and play for awhile. As always Katelyn had to try out every slide. It was really fun. When we decided to head back home it decided to hail, rain and be really winding at times. We look forward to having nicer weather more often so we can get out and go for more bike rides.
