New things

We have had a pretty exciting week, well kinda. We have gotten a couple of new things this week. My grandma gave us a basket that she used when all of her children were born and also my mom used when I was born. We repainted it a light brown color and then I made a cute pink liner and cover than goes over the foam pad.

Our stroller finally came yesterday. Andy had to go to work so I put it together and started to play with it. We love it and we got a pretty good deal on it too! The car seat and base pretty much take up our entire back seat. Well not really but when the car seat is in probably on Maddie or Mckay could ride in the back seat with her.

About a week ago Andy let me get a new sewing machine with some of our tax return money. I had previously been sewing on my mom's old singer machine. It was a great machine but it was just SO LOUD, I bet our neighbors could hear it. The new machine that I got in a Brother Cs-6000i computerized machine. I love it. It is really quiet and has way too many pre-programmed stitches to even dream of using. I sewed the basket liner with it and made the scalloped handle holes with one of the pre-programmed stitches. It is a great little machine that is going to hopefully last for a long time.

On Tuesday, we went to the doctors. Everything is still going really well. I was dilated to a 2 at that point and 80% effaced. Our baby's head is really far down in my pelvis. My doctor thinks that she will probably come this weekend and if she doesn't by Tuesday then he will induce me. So it could be anytime now, which is really exciting and kinda scary at the same time.

Floral Bridal Show

Yesterday (Saturday) was my department's big floral open house. Its kinda like our recital of the semester, so that people can see what we can accomplish and to see what we have learned. Each one of our classes required us to contribute something different to display for the show. The main part of the show is the wedding lines that we do. We are each required to work together as teams to put together a wedding room. Each one has a different theme that corresponds with the main theme of the show. Since I am a senior in the program I wasn't too involved with that part I was more of a mentor to my group. The projects that I contributed were two competition pieces that we evaluated and graded by AIFD members, an interpretive piece of a piece of art that inspires me, a bridal bouquet and a part of a group senior project. Here are some pictures that Andy took of the show.

Fun with the Camera

So this is Andy. Dana is usually the one to do this but I thought I would take a spin. Dana has been having so much fun with her classes and with changing as the baby comes that most of the blogs recently have showed what all happens with that. I love it all but just wanted to show a little of what I have been up to. We got a new camera for Christmas. A Canon T1i. LOVE IT! So in preparation for our little one to come I have been playing around with it learning how to use it and everything so that we can hopefully get some good pictures of her since that is all Conner will ever see of her at this stage in her life. We had a clear day last week and I went up to the temple to shoot some pictures and try some things have I have learned about. Here is what I got...

This picture and the next one are using the same pictures, I just changed them a little to give the different effects. I think they both ended up pretty good.

This is how I spend my free time. We can't wait to have our little girl so that these will all be pictures of her!

February & 4 weeks to go!

Wow sorry I have let this blog lag a little bit so here is an update from the past month. We have had a wonderful month filled with school, work, lots and lots of foam hearts, chocolate, excellent doctors visits, "promotions" at work, more snow, sunshine, sewing cute little girl things, excitement, anticipation and a little bit of nervous feelings building. Here are some pictures from this month.

I made this sweet little dress on Thursday! I have been wanting to make it for a while and I finally did. I love it, I just hope that she is small enough to fit into it.

My Mom bought these cute little ballet shoes for Katelyn and believe it or not they were only 1.00 Go Mom!

We have been trying to measure my tummy every week. It has grown 2 inches since last Saturday. Crazy.

This is what I look like being 36 weeks pregnant. I feel really puffy! She has dropped quite a bit since the last time I have taken a picture.

Just wanted to post a little bit about things that have been exciting in our lives. On Saturday we participated in Bountiful Baskets for the first time. I love it. It is a great way to get quality fruits and vegetables for a reasonably low price. We were surprised by everything that we got. If you are wondering what bountiful baskets is go and check out their website at www.bountifulbaskets.org

We got a pineapple, 2 lbs of Asparagus, 3 grapefruits, 1 head of romaine lettuce, 1 head of fancy leafed cabbage, 1 red bell pepper, 3 heads of broccoli, 10 lemons, 9 Roma tomatoes, 6 Fuji apples, and 9 pears all for 19.50. We were especially excited for the asparagus because we love it but it is quite expensive for us to buy. We steamed it in Andy's steamer that he got for Christmas and it was SO GOOD!!

We scored a free couch. We were really excited! It does barely fit in our apartment but it is quite comfortable. It is a lovely brown floral color. We have the green sheets over the top of it to cover the ugly brown flowers. We are planning on getting a cover and some feet to put under it to raise it up.

Here are some designs I have done in class lately. sorry about the poor quality light.

Today I am 8 months pregnant, so we are starting the count down. 8 weeks to go. here is what my tummy looks like today.

Sorry its taken so long to post these but here are some pictures when we dropped Conner off at the MTC.

So lately we haven't been up to much more than just going to school and to work. We have been having lots of fun unpacking boxes and putting our apartment together. Here are some pictures of things that we have done recently.

To explain the picture of me sleeping...no I haven't had her yet. Apparently I fell asleep in my rocking chair holding the blacket like that. Do you think I'm excited for something?
I am taking two different sewing classes this semester and loving it. The hats and the booties are the first two projects that we have done in my Childs clothing class. We are currently working on a sleeper/pj set.
We are currently doing great. I am enjoying school, except for the long days, and Andy is enjoying his jobs. We are really excited for our little girl to join our lives in a little over two months!

Christmas & New years!

Well its been a while and we just wanted to post to wish ya'll a Happy New Years!

Christmas this year was spent at the Bohman residence. Which means it was freezing all day long. Andy went out and went sledding for the first time all season. And since its only getting colder probably the last. Andy has also managed to slide the car off the road a total 6 times. Only one required extra help to get back on the road. But not bad for only a month and a half into the snowy season. We have about 8-10 inches on the ground so the driveway is pretty much solid ice. Lots of fun!

For New Years we went to Amanda and Spencer Delgado's to play games and have hot chocolate. Since there was no pier close by and it was -3 degrees outside we opted not to go for a walk. Good news, we found an apartment and it is next to Spencer and Amanda's so we are excited about that.

As for Dana, she just hit the start of the 7th month!!!! Here are some pictures of what she looks like. (we got a new camera for christmas and Andy was playing with it, thats why the pictures look a little different even though they were all taken in the same place(Canon T1i, ITS TOTALLY WICKED!!!))

Here are some other ones that Andy took with it. He braved the cold weather, but had lots of fun.
